THANDOLWETHU Zondi says that since he entered the field of acting, there is no place that has challenged him like the one he will appear in in a new drama on Mzansi Wethu (163), called Phambili ngeGwijo.

This film, which coincides with the celebration of youth day on June 16, will be shown on this channel on Sunday, at 8 pm.

Thandolwethu who has appeared in major matches including the second season ofOutlaws as well as theShaka Ilembeexpressed his happiness for being part of the lesson to teach the youth not to lose hope.

Speaking about it, he said that it highlights school student Smiso who is a singer and uses his voice to restore hope to young people who are dedicated to the music industry.

He said that it will be seen that the school choir has given up hope, but Smiso’s arrival in it because of his musical ability brings back hope to many, as they want to come out on top in the competition.

“When Misimo comes to this choir, he brings many different good things, so that their music can be seen in a different way and be attractive. Misimo is very eloquent, he encourages them to unite and in their music not to forget to highlight their culture. This brings back the hopes of some students who had lost hope in the choir. So I like this place as an actor because everything was looking at me as a leading actor, it was difficult. It made me always think of the art that I can put into it to make it stand out even more, I don’t just expect producers and directors to do everything for me,” said Thandolwethu.

He revealed that although they needed to sing a lot in this film, he is not very good at music.

“Although I will appear to be singing a lot in this film, I am not a person who can stand in front of people and ask them to sing for them, it is better if I just do it for myself in the house alone. I took this place because I saw that I can do what is needed in it. I started to sing the type of music known as gwijo in 2015, when I was still at school. I studied in mixed-race schools, so I do not know it well, but after I learned about it, I encouraged other students to know it because it is our culture. I didn’t worry if I didn’t get the chance to act with it, so I don’t regret it,” she said.

In this film, the youth said they will see how music can strengthen the relationship between students and how it can unite people in society.

Other actors who will appear in the film include Likhey Booi, Masungulo Khosa, Mosa Lekwene, Carpo More, Muzi Mthabela, Bongile Mantsai, Siyasanga Papu, Kayise Ngqula and Zandile Msutwana.
