KWANELE Sibisi joined the Hyundai company in 2024 under the Youth Employment Service (YES) program to create job opportunities for young people.

Since then he has helped assemble over 2000 cars.

The vehicles that are built here arrive as semi-knocked-down vehicle kits and the workers assemble them completely.

Kwanele is responsible for the assembly, checking that it is properly assembled and verifying the parties.

“I have always had a love for the field of engineering and I wanted to contribute to building something that people rely on every day. There is nothing that makes me happier than seeing Hyundai work cars on the road knowing that they help businesses to work as well as businessmen. It makes me proud because I understand the work, care and attention that goes into putting together each car,” said Kwanele.

This Pretoria-based firm has assembled more than 22,000 vehicles since it began operations in 2013. Over the course of the year, a GT11 truck is expected to be added to the 6-ton production line.

Kwanele said that for him high quality is the most important thing.

“Ensuring that the quality is high is something that I do not neglect. Every car that leaves our hands shows cooperation, pride and care. I always try to make sure that my team works at the highest level.”

The general manager of the firm, Murge Mathapershad, said that Kwanele’s determination and meticulous work is what makes him one of the outstanding employees.

“His work shows the importance of skilled people in producing things that customers can rely on.”
