He has OTHER fraud charges MKP’s Chief Whip in Parliament, Mrs Mmabatho Mokoena-Zondi, who has been arrested for defrauding party workers of large sums of money.
It turns out that Mrs. Mokoena-Zondi was once convicted of fraud, one of which was withdrawn.
This was revealed when he appeared at the Magistrate’s Court in Cape Town yesterday.
Mrs Mokoena-Zondi is charged with defrauding MKP employees of more than R200 000.
The workers who sued Mrs. Mokoena-Zondi said that she was forcing them to reduce their wages.
They said that Mrs. Mokoena-Zondi told them that this money would help with the costs of the cases against MKP leader, Mr. Jacob Zuma.
Mrs Mokoena-Zondi was released on R30 000 bail.
MKP spokesperson, Mr. Sifiso Mahlangu, said they are considering the issue of Mokoena-Zondi’s arrest.
Mahlangu said the allegations against him were once reported to the MKP treasurer at the time, Mr. Menzi Magubane.
“MKP understands that everyone accused of a crime is innocent until convicted. Since the allegations affect party workers, it is important that all procedures are followed. We are still considering this matter, and we will issue a statement once the leaders have met with the president of the party.”
