Pres. Donald Trump has confirmed that he used swear words during a telephone conversation with Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s prime minister.

In an interview that took place on Wednesday in the New York Post was published, Trump was asked about the conversation he had with Netanyahu on Monday.

The interviewer referred to reports that Trump told Netanyahu: “Are you f* crazy? What the f* are you doing? I helped you stay out of jail.”

“Is that true? Did you use those words to him?” was asked of Trump.

“Yes, I did,” Trump replied. “I was a bit upset about his constant fights with Lebanon.

“I said: ‘Bibi, we have to stop this.'”

Trump went on to say that he still has a “very good relationship” with Netanyahu.

“We worked well together… I really like Bibi.”

According to news website Axios and ABC News, Trump made the phone call after Israel reportedly threatened to attack the Lebanese capital, Beirut. Trump reportedly worried that such a move would undermine negotiations with Iran to end the war in the Middle East.

The incident is an indication of tension between the two allies.

A White House official referred AFP to Trump’s posts on Truth Social from Monday in which he thanked Netanyahu for what he described as an agreement to withdraw troops from Beirut.

Iran has reportedly suspended peace talks because of Israel’s attacks on Lebanon.
