PRODUCER of Deep House and House, CocoSA has used her third album, in memory of her late sister – to convey the message of healing the soul, and comfort those who are facing situations that make them unhappy in their lives.

CocoSA from Gqeberha, Eastern Cape, but based in Gauteng for her artistic work, is one of the headlines these days with her album titled Philisiwe which came out earlier this month, named after her older sister who has passed away.

“This is my way of remembering him since it has been a long time since he passed away, and I thought it was good to use my art to remember him, and to heal other people with the message I have in this work,” said CocoSA.

Continuing, he said that another thing that is different about Philisiwe – is that he has combined different and inaudible rhythms in one and the same way as in his two previous albums, which he did with the aim of showing how he has grown in his music and art.

“That’s why I’ve worked with many singers because I wanted them to have the opportunity to express their feelings, which could be through the health conditions they’ve faced in life – which I believe will affect other people and heal them,” he said.

He said he is looking forward to the song “Izenzo Zami” – featured by Ssips and Kandybeats – which talks about the consequences of wrong actions, and “We Tried” – which he sang with Brandon Dhludhlu, Samantha A and Sipho Magudulela – pointing out that sometimes when you try something it doesn’t go well, you have to accept that, stop it and move on to something else.

Apart from that, other artists who have worked with Philisiwe of Mzi DM, Murumba Pitch, Maeywon, NeleSA, KnightSA, Twistedsoul, George Lesley of Artwork Sounds, Bergino, Sundile, Tim, Makhosi and Siz.

CocoSA her birth name is Mvume Kosi. Before Philisiwe, he has two albums called Soul In Me (2022) and Healing Through Music (2023); then Music & Love (2023), Music & Love ll (2024) and Music & Love ll (2025) – all three with Artwork Sounds; then GOAT (2024) and GOAT ll (2025) – both of which he did with KnightSA.
