AT A TIME when running seems to be on the rise for those who want to ward off diseases by keeping themselves healthy, there are still many who are not enlightened about the sneakers they should use.
Recently, on social media X, there has been talk about sneakers with carbon fibers that should not be bought by anyone. These sneakers are said to be for fast runners as when you step on them they bounce, giving the runner a boost. It is said that if you walk slowly it will hurt you.
The manager of the Maxed Elite Running Club, Martin Ngwenya, said It is a country At the weekend that every runner needs to have a training shoe that is as thick as it gets.
“Even fast runners, when they exercise, they use training sneakers. If you are going to run a race, they use lighter ones, they are lighter. That is why you find people using sneakers with carbon plates. Carbon plates make you run faster because you are running on your toes and you don’t put your foot on the ground, so it helps you push,” explained Ngwenya.
He said that if you run on your own, you need a thick sneaker, especially in the heel so that the foot balances well.
Zola Phoswa, Public Relations Officer at Mr Price Sport, said that choosing running sneakers starts with knowing your body and how you run.
Zola, who is also a runner, said that sneakers do not fit everyone.
“Runners need to look at how their feet are, they need a shoe that will support them and how far they are running. The most important thing is that the sneaker must be comfortable for the wearer. We have all kinds like the Magneto 3 for training, running long distances, even races. If the sneaker feels good when you try it on for the first time, there are many chances that it is the one for you,” explained Phoswa.
