IT LOOKS like the changes made by DUT Coastal WFC in its coaching staff this season are bearing fruit as they lead in Stream B of the Safa KwaZulu-Natal Sasol League after winning all four games played.

This team under the higher education institution, the Durban University of Technology (DUT) in Durban, was among the teams that avoided relegation last season. Before the start of the new season, he strengthened the coaching staff with Sphephelo “Meli” Makhaye who coached Durban Ladies in the Hollywoodbets Super League last year.

Under Makhaye and Zamokuhle Dlamini who is his deputy coach, Durban Coastal has collected 12 points. On Sunday they beat Sapphire Ladies 5-0. It is at the top of Stream B’s log, followed by Lindelani Ladies with 10.

Before the start of the season, Makhaye has made it clear that the team he is putting together this season will be able to hold it as he has played with some of the players who were running in Hollywoodbets teams.

On the other hand, Newcastle Chess, which is one of the teams that played in the provincial Play-Offs last season after finishing at the top of Stream A’s log, seems to be continuing where it left off as it has won all four games it has played.

Chess from Sizweni, Newcastle, defeated Drlala Ntombizane 8-0 on Sunday, at Arbor Park Stadium, Newcastle, which is why they continued to lead Stream A with 12 points.

It is the only one that has not received a promotion in Stream A. It is followed by Mshwathi Future Stars with nine points.

The schedule for Durban Ladies and Royal AM, which are the teams that played in Hollywoodbets last season, is in the Sasol League.

Durban, which was defeated by Mphehli All Stars 1-0, has won one of the four games it has played. It is in fifth place on Stream B’s log with four points.

It’s still alive and it’s down to AM, who once again dropped points, beaten by Sunflower WFC 3-0 on Sunday. It is sitting at the tail end of Stream B since it has not even picked up a point to report.
