DJ Tira says that the retreat of the ram does not mean running away but it is going to gather energy following the cancellation of his entertainment tent at the Hollywoodbets Durban July event, which will be held at Greyville Racecourse, on July 4.
DJ Tira has been organizing the Afrotainment Marquee for years, which is known for being visited by famous celebrities and musicians.
However, this year it is not seen in the list of tents that have been confirmed to be on the field.
“I don’t have a tent this year. I didn’t get the money to make one from the sponsors, I just said I’ll see next year,” said DJ Tira.
He said since he doesn’t have a tent, he chose to focus on the event he started with Kabza De Small called Durban Hotbox. He will be at Sunkist Lawns near Suncoast Casino, July 4th.
“Well, I’ve given birth to a new baby because of course I don’t do Fact (Durban Rocks),” said the DJ who has been hosting events for years.
Last year he and one of the owners of Fact Durban Rocks, Chad White, announced that the one on December 31, was the last.
This event takes place twice a year – on the Durban July Day and then on the New Year’s Eve.
Then they organized more than 30 events before announcing that they were selling it.
Tira said that currently Fact Durban Rocks has not been bought by anyone.
Explaining his new event, he said it will start at 2 pm until 12 pm.
“I told him not to set up the tent and focus on building the Hotbox because it will be big. There will be a Durban Hotbox, Joburg Hotbox and Cape Town Hotbox. Because I’m doing it now I want to make sure it goes well. I will go to Durban July but I don’t have a tent,” he said.
