THE TEAM commissioned by Zwelithini’s King Misuzulu Sinqobile says that it is promising to hold talks with groups represented in Parliament regarding the issue of amending the law governing the fund that oversees Zulu’s land, the Ngonyama Trust.

The delegation held meetings with eight political parties represented in Parliament in the past two days.

What was discussed at the meeting was Silo’s proposal to amend the law governing Ngonyama Trust.

Mbube wants the law to authorize that he be the one to appoint the members of the Ngonyama Trust board, currently the board members are appointed by the Minister of Lands.

Mbube also wants Ngonyama Trust to be managed by the KwaZulu-Natal government instead of being managed by the national government.

The parties that met with the team are ANC, MKP, DA, EFF, Bosa, ACDP, FF Plus and Rise Mzansi.

The Prime Minister of Zulu, Rev. Thulasizwe Buthelezi, said that their discussions with political parties went well.

“The parties are committed to supporting changes that will benefit the people living in the tribal areas.”

There is a lot of conflict in Ngonyama Trust as Silo is not involved with the board members whom we suspect that they do not want to accept us as the chairman of the board.

The efforts of the Minister of Lands, Mzwanele Nyhontso, to dismiss the members of the board failed.

Nyhontso first wrote a letter to the board members asking them why he should not be suspended.

The board members told Nyhontso that they had no power to suspend them.

Recently, Nyhontso tried to dissolve the board but his decision was overturned by the High Court in Pietermaritzburg.
