Many people in Sweetwaters, Pietermaritzburg, including the school board, are now stuck in the throat of a teacher from the Mbubu Primary school who is said to be teaching drinking alcohol.
They complain that this gives a bad image of the school and raises a lot of questions. They complain that this matter has dragged on for too long but nothing is being done about it.
The Chairman of the school management committee, Mr Bhekani Shoba, said It is a country that they didn’t do anything with the intention of resolving this issue but all their efforts are just in vain, it’s like pouring water on a duck’s back.
He said they first wrote to the leader of the Edendale Circuit informing him of this teacher’s mystery. He said they did not write to him once but it has been a few times, but nothing has been done about him.
Right now, he said he feels like they are stuck because they don’t know what to do and what to do to find a solution for this male teacher.
”I don’t know what to do now. After all, it’s going to get damaged while we’re watching but we don’t have the power to fix it because when we speak, we’re not listened to at all,” he said.
He lamented that they are confused as to which path they should follow so that their cries for teachers can finally be heard.
He stopped by the topic that the teacher is flirting in this school.
“We really don’t know how long our children will be taught by someone who is drunk and comes to school smelling of alcohol,” he explained.
He complained that if the teacher is paid, the whole week ends without a bad day at school. It is a country He also found out that he doesn’t hesitate to come with them and put alcohol in the bottle, and he says that he is teaching and drinking.
“What hurts is that you meet him on the way to the bar. So tell me what really causes the school to continue to keep someone like that?” asked Shoba.
It is a country it also found that there are many problems in this school regarding teachers as there is someone who teaches but does not have a degree.
When asked about this, Shoba said that things are messed up at school and it is beyond their control.
“The biggest problem is that the teachers of this school look down on us even if we speak, they don’t care about us and they don’t listen to us at all,” he said.
He said that today there is a meeting to deliberate on various problems that have engulfed the school and the parents of the students have been called.
He said there will be inspectors there. He said they hope that a guide will be found for the problems.
The spokesperson for the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education, Mr. Muzi Mahlambi, was sent questions but did not respond.
