Budding ENTREPRENEURS who wish to prosper in business have a unique opportunity to achieve that through Standard Bank’s annual Standard Bank Kasi SME Pitch Challenge.

Standard Bank has confirmed that this exciting program is coming back this year for the fourth time, with a total prize of R1 million – entries are already open and will close on May 22.

Like every year, this year also 10 businessmen will be selected from each province, who will be given the opportunity to speak and sell their businesses to the judges who will be sorting, then three will be selected from each province – then the winners will walk away with R50 000, and the second and third place will be consoled with R10 000.

It does not end there, as the nine entrepreneurs who will have won in the provinces, will then proceed to the Standard Bank Kasi SME National Pitch Challenge, where they will have a prize of R1 million for the winner.

The Head of Consumer Affairs and Business Development at Standard Bank, Mrs. Naledzani Mosomane, said that one of the good things about this is that the 10 entrepreneurs who have gone before will also have the opportunity to be included in the program to advise and train them with strategies and ways to help them develop their businesses.

“This is part of the ways in which we undertake to ensure that different entrepreneurs develop in our country and find ways to boost the economy, because we understand that emerging entrepreneurs have an important role to play in society, so we should not leave them to struggle alone,” he said.

The guidelines for this year’s entrants are as follows:

  • The business must have 51% or more black leadership.
  • It was that it works in any township in this country.
  • It has information that shows that it is valid.
  • If the leader or the owner is 18 years old or older.
  • The business must be that it has been operating for two years or more, and that it makes less than R50 million per year.

Entrepreneurs who wish to participate can go to the Standard Bank website to get the relevant information on what to do to participate.
