He has faced allegations of assaulting the MKP representative in the election of ward 17 councilors in Thekwini Municipality, Ms. Geylrose Mbanjwa.

Ms Mbanjwa, who was recently elected to represent the MKP, found herself in trouble after a video went viral showing a person suspected to be her talking while she is getting old.

MKP KwaZulu-Natal has started an investigation after the spread of a video showing a person suspected to be Ms. Mbanjwa, leading the way when the public beat up an old man.

The person suspected to be Ms. Mbanjwa can be seen in the video repeatedly hitting the victim.

Even when he refuses to be reprimanded, he is seen repeatedly beating himself with a stick.

The source said the incident happened two years ago.

She said she was getting old and was attacked by members of the community because they accused her of abusing her husband.

The source said that the revelation of the video has caused members of the public to hear about Ms. Mbanjwa running for local government elections.

“People are crying that they will not accept being treated by a bully. If you look carefully in that video, you can see here that the bully is the one in the front when an old person is beaten. Until the police arrived, they took the old person. People say that they are afraid of this bully. I don’t know how he will go to campaign since all the people say that they are afraid of him.”

The source said the victim was kicked out of the area.

“Until today, he has never returned. There is a case that was opened but we don’t know where it ended as we don’t know where he went.”

The producer of MKP KwaZulu-Natal, Mr. Willies Mchunu, said they will start an investigation into the video.

“Someone recently sent me something like that (a video). I want it to be investigated if it is true, if this thing happened and if this person really represents the MKP in the election.”

Mchunu said the video left them disappointed.

“We expect the person who stands in the election to be the one who mediates, we don’t expect him to be part of the attackers. It worries us if it’s true. You can’t say you want people’s votes and appear like a bully.”

Mchunu said he has instructed MKP KwaZulu-Natal organizer, Mr. Simphiwe Mpungose, to find out more about this issue.

He ordered Isoleze to call Mpungose to find out more about this matter.

Efforts to get a comment from Mpungose were unsuccessful as his phone rang and went unanswered.

Efforts to get a comment from Ms. Mbanjwa were unsuccessful as her phone was ringing and she did not answer the questions sent to her.
