It was finally enough for a police officer who was seriously injured in an attack with his colleague who was left in the field in Mount Edgecombe last month.

The report on the death of Sergeant Mandla Khuzwayo, revealed by the police.

In a statement issued on Monday, Acting National Commissioner Lieutenant General Puleng Dimpane expressed his condolences following the death of Khuzwayo from gunshot wounds during the attack on April 30.

Khuzwayo and Captain Louis Nel, both members of the Crime Intelligence Unit, were traveling in a government car when unknown gunmen opened fire on them in Mount Edgecombe, north of Durban.

Captain Nel died at the scene, while Khuzwayo was in hospital in critical condition before passing away.
