A POLICE OFFICER of the Thekwini Municipality who is accused of bribing those who want to become police officers of the council was approached by security guards who were said to be armed with guns and ran away until he entered the headquarters offices last night.

That is Constable Zwile Ximba who concluded that he was accused of Sigonyela’s bracelets and was released on bail by the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Friday.

It is said that on Wednesday night Ximba was smiling like a young woman when she saw her boyfriend – “bribing” a woman, when she was approached by security guards who are said to be working for a famous family of “untouchable” businessmen based in the South of Durban. It turns out that he was conspired by the family of the woman who told him to “lighten up” in order to get him to work.

According to different sources, the policeman fled and left the shadow when he saw the security guards who were on his heels and fled in a car until he entered the headquarters offices at 16 Archie Gumede Place, in the center of Durban.

It is said that she entered the charge office panting like someone who was trying to take chances in the Comrades Marathon.

His colleagues who were on the bench stood up, and took the side of their colleagues who were also confused.

“The police officers were there and called their colleagues who were working outside in different areas to leave everything behind and rush to the headquarters. After the police responded to that call, the security guards came out of the gate and camped where the cars were parked. The security guards called the Hawks, and they arrested Ximba. Indeed, Ximba ended up being arrested,” said the source.

Another source said that Ximba was caught with Human Resources materials used in the selection and recruitment of police officers.

“It’s strange how this police officer got all this stuff that he uses to bribe people and promises them that they will join the army because he comes to work. This person’s law is in the council police training college as he has just arrived from the SAPS. The job he was doing as a novice was to roam the streets of Ektub. So we hope that now that he has been arrested he will release all his associates. transparent – and action taken. We are tired of corruption,” said the source.

This source went on to reveal the allegations that there is a well-known councilor who is a troublemaker and a police officer who is also asking them to be interviewed on Florida Street, Morningside.

“Even old police officers who want to be promoted, you find them going to bribe this councilor in Florida where expensive bottles of liquor are being consumed,” said the source emphasizing that there is a lot of corruption in the employment of police officers as one appeared on Facebook last year thanking the secretary of the ANC branch for the employment of his relative.

In January, the Municipality of Thekwini announced that 62,000 people will be selected to join the council’s police force. It was said that it was planned to have completed the sorting last month. But then someone told them It is a country that until now they have not been called to continue the program even though they succeeded in the running and exercise program.

Those who complain about the recruitment system always insist that there are people who are beaten repeatedly, who come to be tested by running and are registered with the tests and then those who have paid some people in their positions, are not hired. However, the municipality and the leadership of the police have always denied the allegations saying that no evidence has been presented.

The municipal police spokesperson, Colonel Boysie Zungu, was quoted in the media as confirming that Ximba was arrested and charged with corruption.

“A corruption case was opened, the police officer appeared in court, and was released on bail. It was immediately suspended, and the criminal investigation and internal audit are ongoing.”

Zungu said the party will cooperate fully with the law enforcement to ensure that this matter is properly investigated and appropriate measures are taken.

He urged anyone who may have information, or who has been promised a job to start paying, to report it to the relevant authorities immediately.
