KwaZulu Natal Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure, Mr. Martin Meyer, says that there are no people who will interfere with the construction of the R260 million mental health center in Port Shepstone.
Meyer was speaking yesterday, during the official presentation of the contractor, Siyazama, who was chosen to build this center. The MEC said that this center is expected to be completed after 30 full months
He stated that we will be part of the Port Shepstone Regional Hospital. Delivering his speech here, he promised that he would not take any chances by interfering with the construction of this institution.
“I promise that no one will just come and stop this work. We will not allow such crimes to happen here. Everything will be done properly,” he explained.
He said they will not accept the delay in its completion.
“Everything possible must be done to ensure that this center is completed at the time it is expected,” he explained.
He said that’s why they choose a contractor they trust who will definitely not let them down.
The Mayor of Ray Nkonyeni, Zodwa Mzindle, applauded the fact that a center of this type is about to be built.
He said that the most impressive thing is that a lot of people in this area will benefit from job opportunities.
“This makes us very happy because it means that our area will improve,” said the mayor.
He said that this center will reduce the burden that the hospital receives, and he said that what is good is that all people are represented in job opportunities as it will benefit young people, women and those living with disabilities.
”It is good that all people will benefit from the great work of building this center here in the community. The most important thing is that we are built and finished to be what we need to be,” he explained.
The mayor followed the words of the trustee, saying that everything must be done to ensure that there are no people who come to interfere with the construction of this facility.
It said that if there is anything that needs to be discussed, it should be done as soon as possible before the construction work begins this month.
The chief executive of Port Shepstone Regional, Mr. Zakanzima Mbethe, said that they are extremely happy about this facility that will start construction. We are overwhelmed by the suffering that we are still facing right now due to the excessive volume of patients.
However, now there is a glimmer of hope as such a big project to build the center is starting, according to him he said it will bring light to the people of this area and its surroundings.
