A wedding day is a wonderful experience for those who are getting married to their friends and often encourages others to follow in their footsteps. However, the problems surrounding the couple after that made all that beauty disappear.

That is exactly what made the Mlaza church, Life in Him: Kingdom Ministries, come back with a gathering called Umshadikazi Retreat, which is coming back for the third time this year and will be held at the Onomo Hotel in Durban, on Saturday June 27, from 10 am.

One of the leaders of this church, Mrs. Simangele Masuku, and the founder of the organization Women Praying For Women, said that the enthusiasm of this gathering in the past two years has encouraged them to do it again this year. He said entry is R500 per person.

“We have seen that women benefit greatly from the advice we give each other in our gathering, as much of what we discuss is useful for them to be able to strengthen their marriages and keep them stable,” said Mrs Masuku.

Continuing, he said that when they started the event, there were 30 women, and last year there were 38; and this time they expect more than 50.

“We are worried about the increase in cases of married people who divorce, especially those who believe, because we Christians do not believe in divorce at all – that’s why we decided to continue to consult on things that we see that can help break this cycle of ending marriages,” he said.

Continuing, he said that they will be talking to each other especially those who are married, passing on instructions to those who will be attending the event as he is one of them who has been married for a long time. He said he has been on the road for 16 years.

“There will be Bishop Samuel Ndlovu, who will help us by speaking for the men’s side so that we can fully understand what men need in marriage, and what conditions and things cause them to be disturbed in marriage,” he said.
