There has been an uproar over the song by the masked singer, Mphile “Sminofu” Gumede, mocking the dispute between the King of Samabandha, Misuzulu ka Zwelithini, and Royal Nomzamo KaMyeni Zulu.
The song goes like this: “I didn’t put you here, I put you in Machobeni…(You are insulting me) What is this you have built in my father’s house, go to Machobeni. I will let you go to the church there and you will see Masango…Take the bricks and go.” The chorus of this song says “I will bring you back to them after all because this village is in trouble…”
Sminofu also quotes the Royal Family as saying “Let’s not be small, we learn from mistakes.”
Efforts to reach Sminofu for comment were unsuccessful as of press time.
Even though this song is good, many people criticized Sminofu for this song, saying that he is arrogant. This is not the first time Sminofu made a song about the incident.
He started to make a name for himself by singing about the incident of the arrest of Melmoth month, Khumbulani “Dr Mabalengwe” Ntombela because of Absa money. Mabalengwe first liked the song but he also criticized Sminofu’s act of making a song about him.
In the past few weeks, a video showing Silo shouting at Mdolomba went viral. Silo was climbing down Mdolomba, carrying a bottle of alcohol.
