Lindile Mhlungu, former mayor of the Emadlangeni municipality (Utrecht) in KwaZulu-Natal, and her accomplice, Musawenkosi Thwala, were arrested on Tuesday by members of the Hawks’ unit for serious corruption in connection with an alleged fraudulent municipal payment of more than R2 million.
