There are MANY types of drugs that seem to continue to have a negative impact on people’s lives every day, especially on the youth – which seems to be the one that gets the most out of them, despite the fact that it is obvious how harmful they are to health.
One of the dangerous drugs that seems to continue to bring in many people is cocaine, which some call starch.
The dangers of this drug for different people who use it have been proven by an independent doctor with knowledge of different conditions and diseases, Dr Nkosinathi Shabalala, in an exclusive interview withOf this country – who stripped the cup on the page with this drug.
Shabalala said that this type of drug is one of the most dangerous for people, and revealed that it is made from a leaf called cococa, whose seeds are found in different countries of South America, where it is most abundant.
He said that this drug is divided into two types, which include cocaine hydrochloride – which is the most popular and used by many people by putting it in the nose, and then it will be crack cocaine – which is usually used by grinding it and boiling it in a spoon before using it.
“One of the prominent reasons why people use this drug a lot is that they want to have the urge to do things with energy, which is mostly done by people who love fun because they want to stay awake for a long time, and end up ignoring the risks associated with that,” he said.
Continuing, he said that the biggest problem with cocaine is that once you start using it, it will not be easy to get out of it because it has the power to make you addicted to it easily.
“One thing to note about it is that it is available very easily, especially in entertainment venues, which makes its prices expensive – which can make you lose a lot of money if you get into it, since it is also harmful to the body and health,” warns the doctor.
He said that according to his observation and research on different situations, he found that many other people who use this drug are those who are businessmen who are always busy going up and down with work, who end up depending on it because it keeps them motivated to resist work and also helps them to avoid falling asleep early.
“The big problem, however, is that if you use it excessively, it has a negative effect on the heart, so that you can be at risk of suffering from heart disease and high blood pressure.
“And we also do if you have a heart attack, and for others we do what we call cognitive decline – which is a state of mental disorder, such that you can’t remember other things well and you can’t focus your mind on one thing at a time,” warns Shabalala.
The doctor advised that those who have not fallen into the trap of this drug, should not start because it can make their health very disturbed, he also advised each person to be aware of the type of people he gets along with because it can affect what situations he may end up getting into unintentionally.
In townships where this drug is known as starch, it is said that it is dying quietly because it is consumed by honest people who do honorable jobs such as artists, lawyers, health workers and others.
In the entertainment places where it is said to be common, it can be seen that people enter the toilet in groups of three and lock themselves in the toilet and they are about to “feed their noses”, and after that they “bang” until dawn because of the power they get from this drug.
Unconfirmed reports link the death of some celebrities to this drug as the doctor explained that it is dangerous. In addition to worsening the condition of a person’s life, and the amount of money we make, many of those who eat it end up in debt, some end up in a dream that is called a scam if they don’t get help quickly.
This year, there have been several cases of cocaine being caught being brought in or taken out of the country. The biggest incident was in the port of Durban on June 6 where 90kg was caught worth R36 million according to the street price.
A recent study says there has been a 32% increase in the use of the drug cocaine in South Africa.
