The KwaZulu-Natal police have arrested five suspects in relation to the incidents involving breaking into businesses in Woody Glen in Mpumalanga township, Hammersdale in the early hours of Tuesday, 30 June.

The police immediately responded to reports of a group of people breaking into tuck shops in Mbuthu Main Road, Unit 4, Mpumalanga township. One suspect was arrested inside the tuck shop and four turned a corner and were arrested while trying to escape.

The suspects, aged between 14 and 27 years old, will be charged with vandalism and burglary. They are still being processed and will appear in court soon.

The KwaZulu-Natal police urge citizens who will participate in the march to avoid acts of violence, criminal acts and intimidation. As the police are there to protect the marchers, they will be enforcing the law and no violation of the law will be tolerated.
