HE WAS WANTED for murdering a person, a man who was saved by a security company, the community of Mwolokohlo, Ndwedwe, wants to eat him raw on Tuesday.
The suspect (34) who is said to have been in the police van which has spread on social media, the public wants to burn it, is said to have been wanted for stabbing and killing Mr. Kwanele “Bham” Dlamuka (23) on Sunday.
According to a member of the deceased’s family, Ms. Nomthandazo Ntuli, the suspect attacked the deceased while they were returning from an event in the area.
“Well, the deceased and the suspect are related, they belong to the same family and their families are close. He made the incident public,” said Ms. Ntuli.
He said the suspect entertained the deceased upon returning from the event. He said there was talk that had never been mentioned that the suspect was involved in the theft of the deceased’s village radio that happened in the past.
“He had never asked the deceased suspect about this. We heard firsthand that this was the reason for attacking him. But we heard that the suspect said that he killed him because he was courting his girlfriend,” he said.
He said that when he killed the deceased, he was with his brother, who tried to mediate, but he found himself stabbed too. He said the deceased was stabbed in the cheek, his teeth appeared, and he was also stabbed in the heart, which led to his death at the scene.
The Nation found out from a member of the public, who asked not to be named, that since the day of the incident, the public has been going up and down wondering about the suspect.
“They finally found him hiding from a relative, intending to hurt him as well. However, it ended up getting complicated as someone called the police and the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) to hurry up,” said the source.
He said that when the police and the Russians arrived, the community immediately cut down trees and placed them on the road, and placed blocks, trying to stop the van that was going to pick up the suspect from moving.
“They wanted to burn it. It helped that Reaction immediately called a helicopter, which flew to the ground, although the police van was eventually able to leave,” he said.
The KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Paul Magwaza, said the police at Ndwedwe station arrested a 34-year-old suspect for murder.
“This comes after the incident on Sunday when a 23-year-old man was found dead, with stab wounds in the Sonkombo area,” said Magwaza, who said the suspect would soon appear at the Ndwedwe Magistrate’s Court.
