America’s pres. Donald Trump said on Friday that Iran’s declared version of an agreement to end the war is not what was agreed upon.

The White House continues to insist that Iran must dismantle its nuclear program.

The US and Iran have issued two completely different versions of the proposed deal, with Iran insisting on its right to enrich uranium and retain control of the Strait of Hormuz.

“The terms that Iran leaked to the fake news have nothing to do with the terms that were agreed upon in writing,” Trump said in a post on his Truth Social network.

“What they said, including their weak and pathetic statement about reaching a deal, bears no relation to the truth. Extremely dishonest people to do business with,” Trump added. “They better get their affairs in order, and fast!”

A senior Trump administration official said the Iranians had agreed to five key points in the deal.

Iran’s nuclear material will be destroyed and removed, and its nuclear program will be dismantled under the deal, the official said.

Iran’s frozen assets will not be released until the country meets the conditions, the official added. This includes opening the Strait of Hormuz and not funding terrorist groups.

However, Iran’s official IRNA news agency reported that stripping Iran of its enriched nuclear material is not even on the table, while it will insist on managing traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump said on Thursday that the two parties had reached a “great settlement” that would be signed this weekend in Europe. Iran said nothing has been finalized.

JD Vance, the vice president of the USA, said on X just a few hours ago that he sees a lot of false information being spread about a possible agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and end Iran’s nuclear weapons program.

“First, the Iranians receive no cash, and no funds are released for simply signing an agreement or attending a meeting. The agreement is structured to ensure that the concerns of the US and its allies are prioritized, and that if the Islamic Republic of Iran fulfills its obligations, economic benefits will flow to them and to the entire region. This agreement has the potential to remake the region and lead to lasting peace.”
