KOHLISANA is armed in the coalition government of the parties in the country, GNU and GPU as the Secretary General of the ANC, Mr. Fikile Mbalula, says they are not friends.

Mbalula said they want to succeed in the elections so that they don’t have to persuade other parties when they have to make decisions.

“Do you think we are friends with the DA, or the IFP? Do you think they want us? They don’t want us. There is nothing we can do, we need to work together but they don’t want us and they are not our friends,” said Mbalula.

He said this yesterday, speaking to ANC volunteers in Durban, at the Tills Crescent stadium, in Overport.

He said this following the fact that the chairman of the youth wing of the ANC in the province, Mr. Ntokozo Ngcobo, lashed out at the DA and IFP, complaining that these parties are pretending to be the only ones in government.

He accused the IFP of housing ANC members in the municipalities controlled by Nkatha.

“The ANC in Nkatha municipalities are being bullied. They can’t even breathe the way they are being managed, they are being removed from their positions. Nothing is done about this matter, it can just be talked about and it will end like that. Development is only going to the people who support the IFP, it is not going to the people of the ANC.”

He told the ANC leaders that the IFP leaders must be removed from the GPU, which is the provincial Premier Mr. Thami Ntuli or the Minister for Governance and Indigenous Affairs, Reverend Thulasizwe Buthelezi, from the municipalities the way they are doing.

“They are not happy with the way Thulasiwe is doing. They are acting as if they are in charge of the government alone. Those who have been reprimanded for the way they are in charge are as if they do not need the ANC. Let Thulasizwe or Ntuli go from the government,” he said.

He also suspected that ANC Ministers in the provincial government are made by people who do not know their job.

“They are accused of corruption and that they do not manage properly. We are concerned about this because in the Ministry of Education they are said to be corrupt or unable to manage properly. The ANC must take action because the DA cannot be left to do what it wants,” said Ngcobo.

He said they want a review of the existing relationship between these groups in the provincial government.

Mbalula said that he understands Ngcobo, but he said that there is nothing they can do and that is why it is necessary to work so that the ANC can control itself.

“We are in this problem because we did not get enough votes to manage on our own, we need to persuade others to be able to do things,” emphasized Mbalula.
