A teacher from Mlalazi Primary, Showe, is THINKING about quitting teaching, who says that every Monday, he comes to his teaching room with a headache.
The female teacher, whose name has been withheld, said she does not know what to do now to find a solution to this problem.
He stated that this thing started happening at the beginning of this year. He said he suspected something was going wrong. But he said he does not know what exactly is happening to him because he came to this school in 2010. He suspects that there are some who are plotting against him and need him gone. He said his head is pounding now when he thinks about this.
“When this thing first happened, I used to ask the mothers who clean the school to clean my room. They have done this so many times that they are now tired of doing the monkey work. And the big question is who can be responsible for doing this thing all the time,” she said.
He complained that when he thinks about it, no one blames him because he has never had a fight with anyone at school.
“Is there anyone I blame if there is someone I had an argument with at school. I really don’t know what to do if this is the case,” he explained.
He said that this Monday there was a puddle and it seems that it was started with something.
“You can see that this person wants something from me. It means that he wants me to die,” he explained. He said that he felt insecure at all.
This time he said he just chose to go teach in the hall so he could have peace.
He said that he sometimes thought of giving up teaching but wondered what he would do for a living.
He said that what is strange to him is how this person entered the school premises because it is fenced and there are security guards. He said that unless it’s someone inside the school, that would make sense. He expressed that he is very worried because the principal is simply complacent when it comes to this issue.
“After all, a meeting of parents should have been called on this matter, but it has not happened until now,” he explained.
He revealed that he is a Grade R teacher.
He said that he was the one who reported the matter to the parents on social media.
The spokesperson for the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education, Mr. Muzi Mahlambi, was sent questions but did not respond until it was time to go to press.
