The Electoral Commission is CONCERNED about the politicians who are sowing doubt in the public and spreading lies about the results of the elections in this country.

The Commission said that those who do this are putting people in the wrong place for the upcoming elections on November 4, 2026. The spokesperson of the Commission, Mrs Kate Bapela, rejected the allegations of the EFF leader, Mr Julius Malema, that the Commission deprived this group of votes in the 2024 elections, and gave them to the ANC.

He was responding to Malema’s allegations in one of his podcasts, where he said that the votes in the polling station which is the Mponegele Primary School in Polokwane, were changed and given to the ANC.

“We reject what Malema said as the results that were posted in this center are exactly in line with those in the results center. These allegations will lower public confidence in the elections. They also bring doubts to the people about the results of the elections. These allegations are not true,” he said.

Mrs. Bapela said that the results of the election are counted at the center where there are representatives of the parties.

“There are observers as well as representatives of the groups when the results are counted at the center. These results are signed by the representatives of the groups.”

He said Commission officials will meet EFF leaders on Thursday.

“This is where we expect these leaders to present their grievances. This meeting was requested by the EFF and we are continuing where we left off as we are meeting with various agencies regarding the preparations for the elections,” continued Mrs. Bapela.

He said that they have always opened their doors to political parties as there is a committee with all the parties where they discuss matters that are hot for the election. He stated that they do not want people to lose confidence in the Commission.

It is not only Malema who is complaining about being robbed in the election, but the MKP party is also complaining.

The MKP leader, Mr. Jacob Zuma, has recently suggested that the local government elections be postponed, complaining that the 2024 results have not been resolved. The MKP and the Commission are going to court next month when the appeal of the MKP for the 2024 election will be discussed.
