ALTHOUGH many things seem to be in favor of Mamelodi Sundowns in the race for the Betway Premiership title, but they are showing signs of having difficulties on their way to their ninth consecutive title when compared to their rivals Orlando Pirates.

The head coach of Sundowns, Miguel Cardoso, did not deny this when he spoke to the media at a press conference with them following the 0-0 draw against Richards Bay FC on Sunday, at the Mhlathuze Sports Complex.

Sundowns’ next match is against the team fighting for the Top 8, Polokwane City tomorrow at 7.30 pm at Seshego Stadium, Limpopo.

It seems that it will be a burden for Sundowns to play in Seshego when it is clear even to a child how much he has to bear in Mhlathuze which is a stadium that is not the same.

Sundowns will move on from that game and host Polokwane but at home on May 3, then it will be Kaizer Chiefs who are in form these days.

Before wrapping up the season away with TS Galaxy, which always gives Sundowns a hard time, they will play at home first against Siwelele FC.

All these games come to Sundowns with difficult tests following their showing signs of weakness since they played in a draw in the last two league games.

Between these league games, there is the first leg of the Champions League against AS Far of Morocco, on May 15.

Although the way of Pirates has not been changed, but theirs is showing signs of softening, although it is not easy to predict the result before the game.

The remaining matches for Pirates are Stellenbosch FC, Magesi FC, Durban City and Orbit College.

Cardoso accepted in Mhlathuze that Bay exposed the weakness of Sundowns, especially when they attack.

“Bay exposed our weakness when we attack, so we are grateful that we have learned something from it,” said Cardoso mockingly.

“We accept the situation we are in and we know the mistakes we have made, so nothing will change except to be ready to face the next test,” said Cardoso in a nutshell.

Another Betway Premiership match today Siwelele FC will face Kaizer Chiefs at 7.30 pm, at the Free State Stadium, Bloemfontein.
