An application by the three relatives accused of a burglary on Phala Phala to throw the case out of court was dismissed on Friday.

News24 reports that Magistrate Peter Manthata dismissed the section 174 application of Imanuwela David, who is accused together with his sister Froliana Joseph and brother Ndilinasho of having in 2020 paid $580,000 to Pres. stole Cyril Ramaphosa’s farm, rejected. Froliana worked as a cleaner on Phala Phala.

The case was adjourned to May 25 for hearing.

David is in custody, while the Josephs have been granted bail. They are charged with burglary, theft and conspiracy to commit a burglary with intent to steal. David is also charged with money laundering.

The complaint relates to the theft of the money which was apparently hidden in a couch on Ramaphosa’s game farm in Limpopo.

  • The report on the sensational theft on Phala Phala was obtained and made public by ActionSA two weeks ago after a year-long struggle.
