According to a Times Now report, a recent update released by OpenAI has revealed that ChatGPT users will soon be able to set a friend, partner or family member as a Trusted Contact. If during a conversation with a user ChatGPT feels that the user is going through some mental crisis, it can send a notification alert to the number added by the user. However, it is not yet known what or certain words will trigger such alerts.
The system works on this pattern
The system may work on patterns of repeated distress, harmful thoughts, or emotional instability by the user. But OpenAI has not yet given any information in this regard publicly.
