Three suspects were shot and killed during a high-speed chase with the Hawk Tactical Operations Management Team in the early hours of Thursday, Crystal Park, Benoni.

The members received information about the suspects who were planning to hijack a car and kidnap a person on Elm road. At around 20:30, members of the TOMS Hawks saw a car, a silver gray Opel Astra shortly after they took the female victim out of her Fiat and put her in their car.

There was a high-speed chase and the suspects opened fire at the hawk. The suspect’s car swerved and hit a side barrier and got stuck on the spot. The kidnapped victim survived and was rescued unharmed. Two guns were seized.
