THE COACH of Mamelodi Sundowns, Miguel Cardoso, got everything he wanted when his team collected three points from Orbit College FC in the Betway Premiership match on Tuesday night at Olympia Park, Rustenburg.
Although it was 0-0 at the break, Sundowns made it clear at the start of the game that they wanted to win even though it was obvious that the home team had not put themselves down, especially in the first 45 minutes.
It did not take long for things to come together for Sundowns who scored the first goal with the foot of Miguel Reisinho who was the first to hit the net in the league this season.
The second was a penalty taken by Iqraam Rayners in the 60th minute after Khuliso Mudau was fouled.
This result returned Sundowns to the top of the log with 47 points, beating their rivals Orlando Pirates, who will play against Richards Bay FC on Wednesday at 7.30 pm at the Orlando Amstel Arena, Soweto.
Sundowns’ win in this way has burdened Pirates with the responsibility of scoring at least three goals against Richards Bay if they are determined to move Cardoso’s team to the top.
