THEY PROPOSED to enter the street and march calling themselves Friends of Senzo Meyiwa Family as they are complaining about a lot of things that they believe is obstructing the trial of this case.

Mr Hubert Maphumulo who is part of Friends, said It is a country that surely on May 19, they will enter the street and march to make their voices heard about the killing of Meyiwa who was the goalkeeper of Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana. Meyiwa was killed in October 2014, at the home of his ex-girlfriend, Kelly Khumalo, in Vosloorus, Gauteng.

Maphumulo said at the moment they do not know whether the march will be in Durban or Johannesburg. The main thing they complained about is that “they are not children, they see that these arrested people have nothing to do with the killing of this star, but they are just being turned into a sacrifice”.

He stopped by the topic that those who were arrested were simply beaten with meat without ever being brought to the border.

”These people are being played with, no one is blind. We are tired of the court doing things for us that we don’t understand. We want real people to be arrested, not those who are fed to us as a society,” he explained.

He said they will be satisfied when the story is told that they were mourned by Sigonyela’s rings by all who were in the house when Meyiwa’s soul left.

”Where did you ever hear that someone can die in a house where there are people, but not one of those present can be arrested. With this march, we want to convey our anger by saying that we want those who were in the house on the day of the incident to be picked up,” said Maphumulo.

Continuing, he lamented that they no longer trust anyone and that’s why they decided it was better to go into the street.

”You see, we wrote a letter to the Department of Justice, but we didn’t get a response. We left there and even wrote to the President of the country himself, but there was silence. All we have left now is just to get on the road,” he explained.

He said that what they need is to see justice and help Meyiwa’s family to get justice.

”Meyiwa’s family needs to get justice. “You need to arrest people who know what is going on, not people who are offended by this case,” he said.

Continuing, he said they are asking themselves why Meyiwa’s blood is being taken in the hands of the people of KwaZulu-Natal, when it happened in Johannesburg?

According to those who were present, Meyiwa was killed, and he was targeted by criminals who raided the house to rob the house.

However, his family says that it was done by one of the people in the house because “there was a friend of the deceased who was in the house, who called them and told them that Senzo had been shot by mistake”.

There are five defendants who were arrested in this case, and they are currently in court. They are the ones accused by the family who say they should be released because they are innocent.
