It is reported that the officer of the K9 unit of the Johannesburg municipal police has been suspended following an internal investigation.

According to theIOL He confirmed that the municipal police officer who appeared before the Madlanga commissioner for alleged misuse of state resources to help Katiso “KT” Molefe, who is accused of murder, is still suspended from duty.

In September, KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, accused the JMPD officer, Johannes Makgatle, of recklessly using state resources to help Molefe.

Mkhwanazi raised allegations that Makgatle renewed Molefe’s car licenses illegally.

The JMPD began an internal investigation following the allegations.

“The Johannesburg Municipal Police Department confirms the investigation into the allegations made by the KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi that a member of the K9 Unit recklessly used government resources to help the suspect who killed Katiso “KT” Molefe, including the inspection of his vehicles and the renewal of their licenses in order to receive money and other things that directly affect him from Molefe,” the Municipality said in a statement.
