The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) is informing motorists of a major road closure on William Nicol Drive in Roodepoort.
Due to a serious multi-vehicle accident that occurred on Wednesday night, the eastbound lanes on William Nicol Drive between Constancia Boulevard and Joseph Lister Street (near Constancia Kloof, near Flora Clinic) towards the N1 will remain closed for most of the day.
Traffic heading towards the N1 is unable to use this section of William Nicol Drive due to ongoing recovery and clean-up works. Motorists can go up William Nicol Drive from the N1 towards Ontdekkers Road.
“Please avoid this area and use alternate routes to minimize delays. Further updates will be announced as they become available,” JMPD said in a statement.
