Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou believes that there is much more to come in the race for the Betway Premiership title.

Zimnyama picked up a point in a 1-1 draw with Siwelele FC at Orlando Amstel Arena, Soweto, on Saturday afternoon.

Going into the break, Siwelele led with a goal scored by Vincent Pule, who was playing for Pirates.

Magebhula’s team quickly got the equalizer in the second half through the foot of Tshepang Moremi but they were unable to score the second one.

This result left them at the top of the log with 48 points in 21 games.

They leave Mamelodi Sundowns with a point after having played 20 games.

“Regarding the game, I think we were in control when it comes to keeping the ball, creating chances and kicking the goal. Unfortunately, we conceded a goal early, which is unusual, we had to fight for an equaliser,” said Ouaddou.

“The players showed their determination as they got the goal. We tried everything to win the game but it was possible. We knew we were going to face a team that is fighting to stay in the top division and I don’t believe that there are many teams that will win. They were closed behind but sometimes they showed courage.

“All I can say is that we have to move forward, not lose hope. We still have nine games left. Anything can happen in football, you can’t predict. We will rest some players but we will fight until the end.”

The Blacks will play next in the league against TS Galaxy at Mbombela Stadium next Sunday.

They may come to that game in second place on the log as Sundowns will face Marumo Gallants in the league on Tuesday night.
