A young Springboks team needs to go unbeaten in their final group game to book a place in the semi-finals of the World Rugby Under-20 Championship.

Junior Bokke will face Wales at Avchala Stadium, Tbilisi, Georgia, today at 4 pm.

The local team is sitting at the top with 10 points in Group A after defeating Uruguay 104-7 and Georgia 33-5.

It is closely followed by Wales with nine points thanks to victories over Georgia 25-24 and Uruguay 47-0.

Only one team will come out of this group and advance to the semi-finals.

The Junior Bokke are the defending champions in this tournament after defeating New Zealand in the final in Italy last year.

Coach Kevin Foote made six changes from the team that started the recent game against Georgia.

“We want to continue to be active on the field because we will need that as we will face a Wales team that will fight until the end. They are strong and will test us. We have chosen a squad that we believe will be able to compete with them. All the players are ready for this exciting game,” said Foote.

In Group B, the countries that can advance to the playoffs are New Zealand and Italy. In Group C one will pass between Argentina and England, and then in Group D Australia or France will pass.
