We have rubbished the rumor that the MaZulu FC coach, Arthur Zwane, will return to Kaizer Chiefs, a MaZulu official confirmed the renewal of the coach’s contract.
AmaZulu spokesperson, Philani “Pro” Ndlela, confirmed it inOf this country yesterday that Zwane extended his contract with the club by two years.
“Coach Zwane is here, he is not going anywhere, he is looking forward to the start of the new season. I can assure you that he has renewed his contract after our last game of last season against Durban City.
So we consider him being linked to join Chiefs as just a joint rumor,” said Ndlela.
MaZulu’s confirmation of the extension of Zwane’s contract, which was due to expire at the end of June, ended speculation about his future in the club as he was linked with a coaching position at Sekhukhune United, which led Eric Tinkler at the end of last season.
Recently, there have been rumors pointing him to Chiefs instead of being the deputy coach of the new coach, Fernando Da Cruz.
Zwane (52) joined Usuthu in the 2024/2025 season with Vusumuzi “Kanu” Vilakazi to work with him. However, he ended up holding this position independently after the departure of Vilakazi, and successfully led the team to finish seventh in the Betway Premiership log.
In the last season of 2025/2026, he succeeded in achieving the goal set by the president of the club, Sandile Zungu, to place the club in fourth place in the Premiership log.
As AmaZulu prepare for next season, it appears that they have signed three players including left back, Omega Mdaka from Stellenbosch FC, and midfielder Gape Moralo from Siwelele FC. It is expected that he will finish by signing the left corner player, Khomotjo Lekoloane who is also from Stellenbosch.
When asked about these players, Ndlela said: “I have no information about them. Maybe they are coming, I don’t know. They are not there but these players I have today (at the training ground).”
