TUNISIA shocked many by leaving the World Cup this morning, becoming the first country to represent Africa.

This is because of the way it played in the World Cup qualifiers where it was not scored and did not score a goal. However, in this ongoing tournament in Mexico, Canada and the United States of America (USA), it has scored nine goals in two games and changed coaches.

Tunisia opened aGroup F with a 5-1 victory over Sweden.

This was followed by the dismissal of the coach, Sabri Lamouchi, his place was taken by Hevre Renard.

The French coach was also greeted with a 4-0 thrashing from Japan, which confirmed that Tunisia will not advance to the next stage of the World Cup even though there is still a game against the Netherlands.

It explains many of the different results obtained by African countries in their first group matches in the World Cup.

Group A (Boys Boys)

After a 2-0 start to Mexico, South Africa got a point by drawing 1-1 with Czechia in the second match of Group A. They will wrap up the group by facing South Korea in the group on Thursday.

Group C (Morocco)

The first African team to reach the semi-finals of the World Cup (in Qatar in 2022), is one of the first to book a place in the next stage. It opened the group with a 1-1 draw against Brazil and followed it up with a 1-0 win over Scotland. Morocco will play against Haiti on Thursday.

Group E (Ivory Coast)

Starting with a 1-0 win over Ecuador helped as the Ivory Coast stood on three points following their 2-1 defeat by Germany, who had been in the lead. There is still a chance as it finishes the group with Curacao.

Group G (Egypt)

Starting with a point for all the countries in this group leaves Egypt, who played 1-1 with Belgium, with a chance to advance as they will play against New Zealand (early tomorrow) and Iran in the round of the group.

Group H (Cape Verde)

Since Cape Verde got a point against Spain, there are high hopes that it will advance to the last 32 since it will still play against Uruguay (midnight today) and Saudi Arabia separately.

Group I (Senegal)

Although there will not be much difference in the second game against Norway, but not winning will lock this country, which is among the giants of Africa, into a corner even though it opened the competition with the stick of France. The final will be played against Iran.

Group J (Algeria)

After opening with a 3-0 thrashing of defending champion Argentina, Algeria no longer has a sign of dropping points against Jordan and Austria that they will play against.

Group K (DRC)

The heroics of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) during their 1-1 draw with Portugal put them in a position to cross over to the Last 32, although they still have to play Colombia and Uzbekistan separately.

Group L (Ghana)

This is one of the African countries that started the World Cup well with a win over Panama. The Black Stars need at least a point, they will follow up with England, and then close with Croatia.
