Three men were shot dead by armed men in Franschhoek in the Cape Winelands on Sunday morning. Two others, a woman and another man, were wounded.

Forensic investigators are combing the scene.

Brig. Novela Potelwa, Western Cape police spokesperson, says reports from the scene indicate that two armed men entered a house in Jakaranda Street in Groendal at around 09:55 on Sunday morning and fired several shots.

Three men died at the scene.

A woman and another man were wounded.

The victims are all between the ages of 30 and 35.

Detectives from the Western Cape police’s serious violent crimes unit have since taken over the investigation.

As of Sunday afternoon, no arrests had been made and the motive is unknown.
