THE COACH of Orlando Pirates, Abdeslam Ouaddou, walked away with the Betway Premiership Coach of the Month award for the third time this season competing for the month of May award for the 2025/26 season which is wrapping up.

The goalkeeper of Pirates, Sipho Chaine, also won the Betway Premiership Player of the Month award, while Bright Ndlovu who is Sekhukhune United’s stopper, won the Goal of the Month award.

The Moroccan-born coach, who competed for the May award with Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso, and TS Galaxy’s Bernard Parker, recently won the Betway Premiership title for Zimnyama.

Zimnyama were confirmed as Premiership champions for the 2025/26 season by defeating Orbit College 2-0 on Saturday at Mbombela Stadium, Nelspruit.

He ended the 14-year drought of not winning the league for this Soweto team that last lifted the league title in the 2011/12 season.

Chaine, who has not conceded a goal in the last four Premiership games for Zimnyama, has scored a feat this season, breaking the record of 17 games without conceding a goal held by the team’s star, Moeneeb Josephs.

He also broke the Premier Soccer League (PSL) record of not conceding a goal in 20 games managed by Ronwen Williams.

Ndlovu walked away with the Goal of the Month thanks to the goal he scored when Babina Noko drew 2-2 with Siwelele FC in the Premiership season finale on Saturday, at the Peter Mokaba Stadium, Polokwane.

Ouaddou is still being considered for the Betway Premiership Coach of The Season awards, while Chaine is still being considered for the Goalkeeper of The Season at the PSL awards ceremony to be held in June when the 2025/26 season is officially wrapped up after the PSL Promotion Play-Offs.
