Many are shocked by a woman from Limpopo, who is accused of killing her two children by poisoning them.
Ms Ntanganedzeni Siphugu (27) appeared at the Tshilwavhusiku Magistrate’s Court this week. He was charged with two counts of murdering a nine-year-old and a six-year-old.
The spokesperson for the Public Prosecution Unit in Limpopo, Mrs Mashudu Malabi, said the incident took place on June 1 at the family’s home in Madabani Village.
He said that the woman gave her children something that turned out to be poison, which caused them to become ill.
He went on to say that one of the children was seriously ill and ended up being taken to a local clinic where he was diagnosed and found to have passed away.
He said that when the family went back from the clinic, they came home and found that the second child who was left alone had died.
These events led the chicken to blame the Sidlodlo family for their decision to question Ms. Siphugu and Sigonyela’s bracelets.
Ms. Siphugu will return to the Tshilwavhusiku Magistrate’s Court tomorrow to apply for bail, and she is currently in custody as the investigation continues.
There were different comments on this issue on social media, some people admired the cruelty of the woman who “killed her intestines”.
Others sympathized with him saying that maybe he is sorry if he really did what he was accused of. Others said that he should have given the children to people who would be able to take care of them if they were confusing him or take them to the Department of Social Affairs.
