THE dispute over the throne of Zulu, which was thought to be over, has been re-ignited following the emergence of a challenge by Prince Mbonisi of Bhekuzulu, who wants the Constitutional Court to review the decision in favor of Zwelithini’s King Misuzulu.

The awakening of this case, brings the Royal Family back to another mystery of the struggle for the Chair, which makes the Children a terrible mess.

Prince Mbonisi and other Royal Children, want the Constitutional Court to change its decision in favor of President Cyril Ramaphosa’s decision to approve the appointment of Silo.

The Constitutional Court rejected the application by Mntwana Mbonisi and others to challenge the decision of the Court of Appeal, in favor of Ramaphosa, in February. When this decision came out, many thought that those who opposed the appointment of the King had reached a dead end as the Constitutional Court is the last one.

Now Mntwana Mbonisi and those with them, want the court to allow them to challenge the decision of the Court of Appeal. In the affidavit, Mntwana Mbonisi has denied the fact that the rules were not followed during the identification of the King.

“Ramaphosa should not have accepted the appointment of Silo because he knew there was a dispute over the throne. There were complaints when Ramaphosa accepted the appointment of Silo.”

Prince Mbonisi said that a lot will go wrong if they are not allowed to make presentations.

“Here we are talking about an important issue that affects a great nation. People saw the High Court in Pretoria rejecting Ramaphosa’s decision to accept the appointment of Silo, and they also saw the Court of Appeals in favor of Ramaphosa. Now people want to see the end.”

He said: “Prince Mbonisi is the brother of the deposed King, Goodwill Zwelithini of Bhekuzulu. Prince Mbonisi is supporting Prince Buzabazi Mbuzeli of Zwelithini in the race for the seat.”

Among the children who have applied are the Children of Silo from Khethomthanyou, Mathuba, Vulindlela, Mxolisi and Mptwana u Lindiwe.

Silo’s spokesperson, Prince Thulani of Gqikazi Zulu, said they hoped that the decision of the Constitutional Court, ended the dispute for the throne.

“It’s embarrassing because there have been disputes in the headquarters for a long time, until there were killings. Since the monarchy is still there, it means that there was a time when we sat down and discussed. I am confused by these brothers who do not see that it is necessary to sit down and discuss.”

Prince Thulani said that what disappointed him the most was Prince Mbonisi going ahead of those who opposed the appointment of Silo.

“It is bad if it is done by Mntwana Mbonisi because he is the eldest, who should be bringing the family together. Mbube is worried, he should file the papers. It is obvious that there will always be conflict. It is unfortunate that this is happening.”

A legal expert from Donda Attorneys, Mr. Melusi Xulu, said that it is rare that there are people who challenge the decision of the Constitutional Court.

“Usually when there is a decision issued by the Constitutional Court, which opposes the decision of the Court of Appeals, it is over. But if there is new or important evidence in the law as written in Mntwana Mbonisi’s papers, it is possible to take a closer look. It will be clear in the court about the chances of him succeeding.”

Xulu said what made Prince Mbonisi cry the most was that the Royal Family was not given the opportunity to identify the successor.
