SPEAKER for the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education, Mr. Muzi Mahlambi compares the video of him arguing with his wife to that of Zwelithini’s Silo Misuzulu that has recently gone viral.

Mahlambi died yesterday and his name was in the news on social media after a video showing him arguing with his wife went viral.

In this video, his wife, who is also an official in the Ministry of Education, Mrs. Busisiwe Mahlambi, accuses her husband of selling teachers’ positions by asking him to sleep with them.

His wife seems to be talking and saying a lot of things, but Mahlambi is disappointed and just tells her to stop what she is doing.

His wife can be seen holding a mobile phone in her hand saying she wants another one for work from her husband. There is a place where he is heard saying: ”The reason why you don’t want to talk about spaces for sale in the papers is because you are also selling them. Bring my cell phone to work and you will say that you are leaving and that I am threatening you. After all, you can’t carry my cell phone and carry yours.”

If his wife continues to approach him, Mahlambi ends up saying: ”You will end up hurting me, and you will be hurt too, I always reprimand you. Don’t keep hitting me. No, you are hurting me.” His wife replied: “I will arrest you after all.”

When he gets too close to her, Mahlambi ends up saying the word “you’re going to hurt me” four or five times, but his wife doesn’t seem to understand that and continues to search for her mobile phone.

His wife continues to say that she is tired of people who went and did all the corruption and then came back to sleep in her bed.

“No, poor man, he is sad, he does all the things, he sells vacancies, he uses government money, not the poor man,” continued his wife.

When contacted by Solezwe Mahlambi about this issue, he simply admitted that he knows the video.

He started by revealing that this is an old video until he confirmed that it was something that happened five years ago.

When he was asked why it would be leaked now, he went into the room, hesitated and instead replied that it was a video that was in the family’s WhatsApp group.

”Yes, I know and I’ve seen it too, but it’s not a new thing, it’s a very old thing. If I’m not mistaken, it’s something from five years ago,” he said, answering this very freely.

When asked what he has to say about the serious allegations heard by his wife regarding the issue of him selling positions by sleeping with teachers, he replied that they are nonsense.

He spoke with confidence and said that the way not to panic is to start an investigation about what his wife said in the video.

“They can do an investigation and I don’t have a problem because I know there is nothing wrong,” he said.

According to him, if a person is very angry, especially if they are arguing as a family, he may end up saying something negative even if he knows very well that what he is saying is self-inflicted.

He said it is the same thing in this situation, his wife also because of anger, she found herself saying anything and everything that she knew very well that it was nothing.

He also said that if he wanted to, he could insult his wife and say anything from his heart, but he knows very well that it is not as it is.

He then compared this video to Silo’s which has recently spread and was in the news last week. ”There is no reason why this video is almost the same as that of Silo that has been talked about,” he explained.

In the afternoon, Mahlambi also sent a message to the reporter via WhatsApp, which turned out to be written by both him and his wife. In this message, they emphasize how much they love each other. They also expressed that they regret the spread of the video as they are people who hold important positions in society. He said that no matter what happens, love is stronger than all things.
