The new Prime Minister of Zulu, King Phathisizwe Chiliza, has called for a ban on the use of advertisements and marketing boards for government agencies, which often happens at various cultural events that are opposed to the Royal Family of Zulu.
Chiliza said this while speaking on Thursday, when he was just given this position, he stepped into it filling the place of the leader of the project, Reverend Thulasizwe Buthelezi – who is the Minister of Governance for Cooperation and Indigenous Affairs.
Narrating his opinion, he said that what he intends to start with is to ensure that the sovereignty and dignity of the Royal Family is protected, including what he called abuse by politicians and the government.
“We have often seen that when there are commemorative events for the war in Sandlwana, the government always uses that opportunity to advertise their political leadership, which should not be happening. In those events, only the Zulu monarchy should be highlighted, regardless of whether the event is sponsored by the government or not. That is to protect the dignity of the monarchy,” said King Chiliza.
It is eagerly awaited to see if Chiliza’s call will not interfere with the Mkhonto we Sizwe party, of which he is a member and if what he says will not only apply to certain political parties, and for how long it will happen.
And all this is just happening, different campaigns and programs of political organizations are expected to campaign for the local government elections in November this year.
The spokesperson of the provincial government office, Mr. Bongani Gina, said that the use of these marketing programs that represent the provincial government is in line with the government’s communication and information sharing plan, however he pointed out that they will study Chiliza’s appeal and opinion.
Chiliza also thanked Buthelezi and King Mangosuthu Buthelezi (deceased) for the role and good work they did before him in this work.
Regarding the issue of illegal immigrants, Chiliza, who accompanied Siro Misuzulu KaZwelithini on a trip to Zimbabwe last week, praised Siro for a good discussion when we visited the President of that country, Mr. Emmerson Mnangagwa, where they discussed the ways and strategies they could use to handle the issue of immigrants in a way that would not be noisy.
