THE COACH of Morocco, Mohamed Ouahbi, sees no one who can stop them if they continue to play in the way they are doing in the ongoing World Cup.

Ouahbi said this is how Morocco will face host Canada, today at 7 pm, at NRG Stadium, Texas, USA.

Morocco booked their place in the round of last 16 by defeating the Netherlands 3-2 on penalties on Monday.

“This team, and all the national teams of young Moroccan players, are very disciplined. They are fighting for more than just winning the game because they know that they have the support of millions and millions of (Moroccan) people.

When we played the Netherlands it was two in the morning Moroccan time but I’m sure the people of Morocco were not sleeping, watching their national team they support. That gives us momentum and motivation to not give up hope, to continue fighting for the country,” said Ouahbi, quoted by AFP.

“For the past few years, Moroccan players have been confident, and the fans have believed in them.”

The Atlas Lions made history at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar by becoming the first African team to reach the semi-finals of the World Cup. Its good start in the group stage and its success in advancing to the Last 16, gives hope for this team that is the hope of Africa in this world football tournament.

This team is made up of stars who play in big European clubs, including Brahim Diaz, Ismael Saibari, and captain Achraf Hakimi. There is no doubt that it is counted and observed in going the distance in this competition.

“No one can stop us if we play the way we play, which is to play the football we know. But no team is unbeaten, so if we make mistakes we will find ourselves going back home,” said Ouahbi.

Today, Morocco will face Canada, a national team that has no history in the World Cup, which advanced to the knockout round of the World Cup for the first time, defeating Bafana Bafana 1-0 in the Last 32.
