The principal of Mpumulwane Primary, KwaMaphumulo, Mr. Sithembiso Khumalo, will be sentenced on Thursday by the Durban High Court who was found guilty of defrauding the police officer of the Durban Council, Captain Zwelakhe Ntombela.

This was expressed by Judge Bruce Bedderson as Khumalo had been appearing in court and representations were made to plead for him before the court.

It is now history that the deceased, Ntombela was shot dead in his house in S, Mlaza. He was taken to Siphingo Hospital where he died.

After that, the police started investigating the case which led to the arrest of the bull Sipho Ntombela who wasted no time in coming to the court and confessed to the crime and then accused all those involved in the plot.

Many people were shocked when he told the court that one of the people involved in the killing of the police officer, Mrs. Nontsegbo Ntombela.

He also brought up the name of Khumalo and the feared bull in KwaZulu-Natal who is already serving a sentence for other crimes, Khulani Cele.

After a few months, the police arrested the policeman’s wife who was famous for smiling every time she was tried in court. It is now history that he finally pleaded guilty and was sentenced to life imprisonment.

On the other hand, Khumalo was out on bail but is still in court for this case.

At the beginning of this year, his case started and he had to have him come into the box and speak for himself about what I know and what I don’t know.

Proving himself, Khumalo spoke in front of the judge, telling him that he was just being accused of a crime he had never done before.

“I don’t know the policeman that I am said to have killed. And I am just asking myself what I would gain by killing him,” he said.

On the day the case was brought against him, his lawyer, Advocate Mdu Mvune, made a request to be released because learning at school would stop without Khumalo.

The judge rejected this and said it was a very weak request in the school where there is a deputy.

Khumalo was disgusted by that and dismissed his lawyer Mvune and hired Mazomu as his new lawyer.

Yesterday, his new lawyer tried to plead with the judge not to impose a harsh sentence, pointing out that Khumalo is an old man at 56 years old.

The judge was upset and wrote down everything he said and then said that on Thursday in the final they will sentence Khumalo.
