Hope has returned to MaZulu FC coach, Arthur Zwane, for his chances of continuing to add to the Betway Premiership log with the aim of struggling to secure a place in the Caf Confederation Cup by defeating Chippa United 5-1 on Saturday at Moses Mabhida Stadium, Durban.

The Zulus beat Chippa just as they were coming back from the 3-0 defeat they received from Orlando Pirates.

Getting a win for MaZulu at this time of the season with four games left to wrap up, they are increasingly achieving their goal of finishing the season among the top four teams in the Premiership log.

Usuthu is currently in fourth place on the log with 42 points, separated by five points from Kaizer Chiefs who are in third place with 47.

“We came to compete here (in the Premiership) even though we are playing with a majority of young players. We are still learning from what we are doing without putting ourselves under pressure. We face each game.

If God wants us to go to Africa (Caf), I don’t see anything that can stop us. And our angels will lead us in the right direction,” said Zwane speaking to the media after the game.

“Spiritually, we are a strong group. We pray together, we share many things that are close to our hearts and the challenges we face as a group. We are like a family.

I am happy with the team we have put together this season. It’s encouraging to see the young boys volunteering to do more than what they have to do even when their legs can’t do it anymore.”

Apart from Chiefs who are still sitting in third place on the log, Usuthu is among the teams that still have a chance to finish in third place to secure a place in the Caf Confederation, including Sekhukhune United, Polokwane City and Durban City.

Usuthu will return to the field with an away game against Orbit College, at Olympia Park, Rustenburg, on May 9.
