Talk show host Molemo Maarohanye, popularly known as Jub Jub, has been released on R5 000 bail after the Gauteng High Court heard an urgent appeal regarding the delay in his first court appearance.

This decision, issued on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, comes two days after the arrest of a 45-year-old suspect, following an alleged altercation between an e-hailing driver, in Edenvale.

The High Court ordered that Maarohanye be released on bail and adjourned it to Monday, June 22, 2026, when it is expected to continue at the Germiston Magistrate’s Court as the investigation is still ongoing. The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) said that the case currently in court is about pointing with what is believed to be a gun.

The prosecutors said that later the police searched Maarohanye’s residence, and that is where a small gun was seized from him before he was arrested. The urgent application was lodged after concerns were raised about the delay in his appearance at Germiston Magistrates’ Court.
