The Department of Health in Gauteng is using the story of The Polygamist to warn people about misbehaving and not protecting themselves from epidemic diseases
“I saw the way Jonasi went, that’s not just a TV show, it’s the results of real life,” said the ministry in a text posted on social media.
This study says that many people who indulge in sex without protection increase the risk of STIs and HIV.
“Not paying attention to treatment does not cure the disease, it makes it worse. Knowing your condition is strength. Using protection is important. Taking your medication is life.”
This department also urges those who have stopped taking medication to start taking care of themselves again so that their condition does not escalate to AIDS.
“Remember, prevention methods like PrEP and Lenacapavir can help prevent HIV, but condoms are still important to protect against STIs like gonorrhoea, herpes, chlamydia and more, as well as unwanted pregnancy.”
