The High Court of Gauteng, Pretoria, has revealed shocking information about the lover of the veteran politician who was the leader of Cope, Mr. Mosiuoa Lekota, who is the mother of his child, who allegedly “swept” his bank account two weeks before the leader died.
The court said that this lover, who was described as Advocate A to protect their 16-year-old child, failed and refused to explain the money that was withdrawn from the account in the name of Lekota and his wife Mrs. Cynthia Lekota. It is said that the money was going into this woman’s account several times from May last year, until February this year.
Judge Anthony Millar ruled on Monday, saying: “The death of Mr Lekota would not have given (Adv A) the opportunity to answer for his actions in relation to his and his wife’s account. The withdrawal of money and the sweeping of Mr Lekota’s account now on February 12, needed to be explained, but it is not.”
Millar said Lekota died on March 12, mentally unstable and unable to control his finances.
He said this means that Advocate A was acting on his own without Lekota’s consent.
Lekota’s wife submitted to the court because she saw indications that the inheritance of her marriage with Lekota is still safe, as it was found that all the money was withdrawn from the bank.
It appeared in court that since Lekota was living in Gauteng, he has a child with Advocate A. His wife said she knew about this woman as she was introduced to him by the deceased years ago and he had no problem with her.
