ALTHOUGH the recent results of Kaizer Chiefs in the Betway Premiership show signs of awakening at the right time of the season for this Naturena team, but one of the acting coaches, Khalil Ben Youssef, talks about the problems that force them to change the scheme in almost every game.

Amakhosi won for the third consecutive time in the league on Monday at Orbit College with goals from Wandile Duba, Mduduzi Shabalala and Siphesihle Ndlovu.

Although the result of Orbit returned Chiefs to the third place in the log with 39 points in 21 games, which is close to where they want to finish, but Ben Youssef decided to talk about stops rather than being interested in a win.

The Orbit game was started by Given Msimango, who has been out of action for some time due to injury, to replace Inacio Miguel who was absent due to a card penalty.

Nkanyiso Shinga, who arrived at the beginning of the season from the Portuguese team, has yet to appear in one game that he did not finish due to injury.

Players like Reeve Frosler, Zitha Kwinika and Dillan Solomons played in a few games and did not appear because of the impact.

Miguel and Aden McCarthy, who usually play together, are among the best in the Chiefs for picking up yellow cards this season.

Although Chiefs are among the teams that don’t concede goals easily, Ben Youssef revealed that they have a problem with defenders who are always absent.

“Since we are done with Orbit, we are thinking about how we will set up the scheme for the next game with TS Galaxy,” said Ben Youssef in the media.

“Our problems start with not having a well-known scheme, especially at the back. The reason for this is that almost all of our games end when there is a defender who is injured or who has received a card that removes him from the next one.

“This has led to us being cheated by the fans who accuse us of constantly changing the scheme, especially for the defenders. Since the start of the season, Chiefs have been playing without one of their best stoppers, Rushwin (Dortley) due to an injury.

“On top of this, in Chiefs there is always a defender who has to be stripped of his shirt almost every week due to card penalties. We try our best to avoid this situation that bothers us at the stops but we keep following him every time.

“Our desire is to have a specific scheme especially at the stops because this is helpful but we do not have the sign to do this because the disease of cards and frequent injuries to the stops has attacked us.”

Amakhosi will play the next league game against TS Galaxy at FB Stadium on Saturday at 3 pm.
